Keynote – Digital transformation in the health industry
The digital transformation in the health industry is happening today. The new patient engagement model for the future will be based on deep understanding of the generated data from the health condition of every individual. Faster diagnosis, more insights, better coordination of care and personalized medicine will allow a significant improvement of the quality of care. The Internet of Things combined with advanced cloud analytics should be a new corner stone in every health organization strategy to achieve this transformation. Especially the remote monitoring of patients with chronical diseases or keeping connected with elderly people are areas where IOT can generate a huge impact. Capturing IOT data, real time analyzing and doctor alerting is typically the first step. Adding machine learning techniques to predict the future health status is the real game changer. It would allow health professionals to become more precise in the treatments plans of the patients that are monitored. Also IOT in health can dramatically improve the operational efficiency of the health providers. Lowering cost by improving the care coordination or avoiding outages by implementing predictive maintenance schedules for the medical equipment are just a few of the improvement areas that can be enabled by IOT. Microsoft’s Azure IOT suite is fine-tuned to leverage all the described scenarios keeping in mind the regulatory requirements that exist in the health industry and in the different world wide geographies. The session will highlight customer and partner examples like Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, NHS Poole, Gojo, NEC, CareInnovations and others.
